[opensuse] pdf editor--does it work on Mac?
A friend is using basically Mac to edit a newsletter. Q1. What open-source software can edit pdf files, and, Q2. can this be run on the Mac, somehow. (I know the Mac is running a version of Unix.) I also know that OO can output pdf code, and can be run on Mac, but a fairly long search of Google info does not indicate that OO can edit pdf input. The pdf files are a combination of text and pictorial (music notation) and only the text needs to be edited. He has a solution, but it would be simpler if the whole thing could be edited in its pdf form. doug Blessed are the peacemakers ... for they shall be shot at from both sides. --A.M. Yes anything in SuSE works fine on a "Mac" they are just an Intel PC with a pretty casing and oversized price tag. However, I will suggest that you buy a 3 button mouse it's really annoying to use the 1 button mouse the Macs come with. Please don't top-post. Bottom-post or inline posting is preferred on this list. Thanks. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

How's that? The base OS on the Macintosh is a FreeBSD derivative, not Linux. It will never be possible to take openSUSE software and just run it on a Mac. With some work and access to the source code and necessary development resources, you can probably build many cross-platform software packages for MacOS, but you might want to see if someone else has already done so.

Macs have had two-button mice for a few years, now. Randall Schulz -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
