Hi,
it's funny to see a discussion about beer on our list, I like it...
I've been living in Germany in a area where nearly 1000 breweries (you would call them micro breweries I think..) can be found in a 100km raduis. And there is no doubt, the best beers are mbrewed in this area, in 'Franken' (or Frankonia...).
I'm living now in San Francisco for about three month and enjoy the Bay area. But there are two things I'm realy missing, good German beer (forget about Becks, or the other German brands you can get in the US...) and German food... ;^)
Ciao, BB
Hi BB- I cannot offer German beer but would like to offer some tips on good american beers in the SF Bay area- 1) Sierra Nevada Pale - a nice and full pale ale. check it out 2) Golden Cate Amber Ale - try it. nice!! 3) Anchor Steam - good any old way, 4) Red Tail - nice and brewed quite well 5) A whole host of beers brewed in Napa, etc. Too many to name at this moment. Others available at Beverages and more. Check out beverages and more for some great beer both seasonally and year round. Some rather rare stuff now is Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale. Possibly one of the finest beers ever made. I have a case still. This is only brewed once a year. The Railroad amber stuff. Nice to taste. Aanyhow, there are some good web-based beer pointers posted on alt.beer once in awhile. Look for Ken Papai's web site on northern california microbrerwerania. PS - I like this discussion to. I am su'ing to my user named beer at this moment :) -- --Michael Perry-- mperry@basin.com -- To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e
