I'm not sure, but I don't think you're going to be able to fit everything you need to boot with network support on a floppy. Somebody else may know better than I, however, I do know that you wouldn't want to select a "network" install if you are installing from your had disk; you would want to select a "Hard Disk" install. Or, alternately, you could install via ftp with the boot parameter: install=ftp://www.blah.com However, for that you would still need to be able to boot with network support. If you have everything downloaded to your hard drive, then you won't need to boot with network support and you should just be able to make a bootable floppy. You can ask how to do that seperately.
Well, network installs starting with just a boot and a modules floppy used to be the norm for linux. I did that many times over with older versions of suse. I haven't tested it on the more recent 8.x and 9.0 series, but I would be very surprised if it didn't work. Take a look at the boot subdirectory of the CD or DVD media. It contains a number of modules disks that should make it possible to boot a lot of different hardware with network support. However, in pinto's case it looks like he doesn't really want a network install but rather an install from another hard disk. I think that this should be possible, certainly when you use the manual install option. I would simply give it a shot. However, make sure that the directory tree is intact and the necessary files are present in the subdirectory where you put your downloaded distribution. Best regards, Alex.
