2.4.16 RPM upgrade seems to have failed. (Additional info)
Also, in the /boot folder, I see a vmlinuz.suse file, dated 4/10/2002. The RPM is dated 4/22/2002. Is this my new kernel ? I can manually edit lilo.conf if necessary. Harry G

The default kernel should be called /boot/vmlinuz. The vmlinuz.suse is a "safe" kernel and the kernel boot parameters turn off things like dma, apm, and acpi. You might need to make a new initrd since you are using ext3 on the boot partition. Best Regards, Keith -- LPIC-2, MCSE, N+ Got spam? Get spastic http://spastic.sourceforge.net

Did you remember to run mk_initrd after installing the new kernel, and before running lilo? -- 8:38am up 3 days, 22:22, 1 user, load average: 0.10, 0.06, 0.02

Yes, I did. Then ran lilo again. No change. Harry G
