I'm trying to compile wine from cvs, but I get a strange problem. Maybe I'm missing something very simple but libGLU.so gives me a lot of undefined references to things found in libGL e.g. /usr/lib/libGLU.so: undefined reference to `glPixelStorei' now libGL is installed, and both mesa and hardware GLX works fine. ldd /usr/lib/libGLU.so just shows ld-linux and libc What am I missing here Anders

You whould make sure xf86glu is installed. -- Mads Martin Joergensen, http://mmj.dk "Why make things difficult, when it is possible to make them cryptic and totally illogic, with just a little bit more effort." -- A. P. J.

I can't find this package. Did you mean xf86glx? That's the same files as the nvidia glx package, isn't it?

Interesting. On a 7.1, I get
gzip -cd INDEX.gz| grep xf86glu
Which files are in that package?

This package is new with 7.2 and not available with 7.1. Ralf
One strace later and the problem is solved. When I installed the latest nVidia rpm (build 1251), the /usr/lib/libGL.so symlink was never updated. Don't ask me how I still could play hg2, but I could. It still pointed to the now nonexisting .769 (or what it was). ld, however, couldn't open libGL.so, so opened libGL.a instead, a file provided by mesadev (why would a dev package contain binaries anyway. Aren't they for header files only?!). Anyway, I changed the symlink and it works now :) Thanks for the help Regards Anders On Saturday 23 June 2001 02:24, Mads Martin Jørgensen wrote:

Has anyone gotten GNOME 1.4 to work with SuSE 7.0? I have tried to install the program via the Ximian FTP server (Installer-suse-64-i386) without any good results. This version is suppose to be for SuSE 6.4 or 7.0. Regards, Jay
