[opensuse] How can the common users use VirtualBox's USB device?
Hello, community.I'm a newer. I installed VirtualBox1.54 in openSuse 10.3. If I run it as root, everything is ok. But, if as the common users, I can't use the USB device in virtual machine. Which device's property must be chmod? By the way, my main usb device is a printer. Thanks. Did you add your user to the group vboxusers like you were told to do during the install? What did you install inside the VM? Is it just the usb in the user that you cannot access? Did you add (if needed) usbfs /proc/bus/usb usbfs devgid=1001,devmode=664 0 0 to your fstab? That would probably be the one you missed. After adding it, as root, mount /proc/bus/usb, then retry as a user. -- Joe Morris Registered Linux user 231871 running openSUSE 10.3 x86_64 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

That's all right! Thanks for reminding, I add it as "devmode=644" before. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Hi, Which version of VirtualBox are you using, the one in the openSuse repository installable in Yast (which doesn't support USB devices), or the one from the VirtualBox website (which does support USB)?
