OK, seems /etc/module.conf has no help, so what's the simple way to add a scis (AIX2930) controller & CD to an IDE based system ? /Dee

I'm pretty certain that this uses the aic7xxx hardware drive. Support is built into the kernel. You can check this out using insmod aic7xxx (su root). Then add support in /etc/rc.config: INITRD_MODULES="aic7xxx" and run SuSEconfig. M
