paste.o.o no longer remembers fields, instead uses comic names?
All, The paste.opensuse.org interface changed and now the fields are no longer remembered between pastes and the "Recents" page does not show my recent pastes, but instead shows pastes beginning 2 months ago (presuming when the new paste backend started). The old paste site would remember your name and last title -- which was very convenient and likely resulted from the old site using normal forms/fields. The old "Recents" page would also reflect my pastes instantly -- mandatory for times I would click off the page and needed to find the paste URL again. A listing of 2+ month old pastes isn't very useful. The new site seems to be some containerized jumbled together ruby-on-rails site. Who do we send these paste oddities too? cc'ing to a.o.o, but who else, if anyone? cc: admin@opensuse.org (and Henne -- though I think that is ml only) -- David C. Rankin, J.D.,P.E.

As for the comic names nonsense, it changes each time, but this last time I went to the page, instead of my name, it lists the "Created By" field as: Pleasant Toad Nice touch. Now go find the kid that thought that was cute and take his web-design crayons away... -- David C. Rankin, J.D.,P.E.

And, my bad, The "Recents" page does show my last paste - jumbled somewhere about 3/4 down the page, not in date order (so it appears to be a sort issue). Surely "Recents" should list the "most-recent" first? No? -- David C. Rankin, J.D.,P.E.

Yes, it sux compared to what we had, but it's what we have until and unless an admin (or other contributor) with time to spend on it agrees something should be done about it. :p

You can always bring up such issues with the author, e.g. by opening a ticket. paste.o.o was upgraded because it was a) hosted externally, which made maintenance difficult b) getting old

Surely this is not news to anyone? we have been doing that for six-seven years (or more). -- Per Jessen, Zürich (9.5°C) Member, openSUSE Heroes (2016 - present) We're hiring - https://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Heroes

You can login before pasting, and then you get your own list.
