I'm using an MS IntelliMouse Optical USB (5 buttons, wheel) and still can't get the wheel to work (imwheel is installed, IMPS/2 protocol selected, and I added the (according to www.suse.com) appropriate line to my /etc/X11/XF86Config file: Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5" So, no idea why that doesn't work. Another thing: Is there a way to set the refresh rate to a fixed value? I have my computer hooked up to a KVM switch and don't want to be changing refresh rates back and forth all the time. So far as I can tell, I have no idea how XF chooses that. Also, since upgrading X, the neat panel background image went away. I liked that, darnit. It looked the same as the "SuSE Button" default I think, anyone know which image that is?
I have the same mouse for my notebook, can't get the 4 & 5 (at the side) buttons to work so far, the rest are okay. For 7.1, restart x-server should bring the wheel alive, I am not sure but I have one more line: Option "Buttons" "3" For 7.0, need to issue the command imwheel &. This is all I know to wakeup the wheel. Good luck. Dennis/sg

Is this what you are looking for? /opt/kde2/share/apps/kicker/wallpapers/SuSE-background.jpeg Regards Ole

Did you put the startup command "imwheel" or "imwheel -k" into your .xinitrc file? (The "-k" kills any other running imwheel and is recommended in the docs.) Paul Abrahams

Except that the -k option is not needed with SuSE and is disabled. Regards Ole

Try a tab between the 4 and 5, instead of a space. JLK
