I've been using a Logitech cordless keyboard and mouse for a couple years now and have had absolutely no problems (auto detected correctly on install).... it's the PS2 version, not the USB one though. If you poke around inthe archives you will come across various oddities that people have encountered with USB mice and keyboards. Fo simplicity... I'd suggest the PS2 version of the HW. Ok, you can't hotplug it, but how ofter do you need to do that with your mouse and keyboard. C.

I've been using a cordless Trackman Wheel since 7.3 (skipped 8.1) and now on 8.2, and it's worked perfectly for me. No hiccups or anything. I haven't tried a cordless keyboard yet though. I am using a Logitech Cordless Optical Mouse and Keyboard under SuSE 8.2 and find it quite nice. You will have to amend the /etc/X11/XF86config file to add a couple of option lines, in order to use the wheel, but otherwise, it is quite nice. One drawback: To save energy, there are no LEDs on the keyboard, and the accompanying software which displays the equivalents of LEDs on the screen is Windows-only.

Dennis, This is not really a problem either as programs are available to do that in Linux as well. I have found two very nice ones. One is a program that displays in the systray, while the other is an applet with sounds, mouse control, etc. I like the applet one the best myself, but have rpm files for both if you should want them too. Just email me off list. They are both small, so should not hurt in email transfer. I want to order a new computer etc in a couple of months time and because I am thousands of KM away of a supplier , I cannot afford in having the wrong hardware. ( about 8 months ago I bought a Digital camera and cannot get it to work in SuSE) I might come back and ask your opinion about LCD screens as well. Thanks again. What camera? I had a similar problem with a Sony digital camera and discovered that a small tweak to the USB module was all that was needed. It's possible that you may be able to get it working... maybe...
