[opensuse] DisplayLink usb-to-vga
Hello list, I got a DisplayLink usb to vga adapter. lsusb result is: Bus 001 Device 004: ID 17e9:0198 Newnham Research and dmesg result: [ 1.924516] usb 1-6: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 4 [ 2.059921] usb 1-6: New USB device found, idVendor=17e9, idProduct=0198 [ 2.059926] usb 1-6: New USB device strings: Mfr=1, Product=2, SerialNumber=3 [ 2.059930] usb 1-6: Product: WS Tech USB-DVI [ 2.059933] usb 1-6: Manufacturer: DisplayLink [ 2.059936] usb 1-6: SerialNumber: 510026 I already install the module which is libdlo-0.1.2 and can run the test with the good result with vga projector but no success when I try to use it for presentation. My pc use intel vga gpu and openSUSE Edu li-fe 11.3 with the latest update. Googling show me (mainly for Ubuntu - for example [1],[2]) that by modifying xorg.conf it is reported that this peripheral works. I try to modify my xorg.conf but no success (only green color projected). Anyone success with this device with openSUSE? Can someone help? Interesting device. What happens if you connect a simple display? Projectors do all kinds of auto-sensing. Maybe that is the issue. -- Roger Oberholtzer OPQ Systems / Ramböll RST Ramböll Sverige AB Krukmakargatan 21 P.O. I'm confused what this means. You have connected it to a VGA projector and it works? How is that different to using it for presentation? Cheers, Dave -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Yes, connecting it to vga projector and run "make check" from libdlo success in result. Only the test case from the libdlo runs. If I reboot the pc and using it to connect my pc to vga projector, it fails to show my screen, only green screen show up. But It solve now, my mistake. So this is working for you on openSUSE? Very interesting. I would be curious exactly which device you are using, as well as which drivers. -- Roger Oberholtzer OPQ Systems / Ramböll RST Ramböll Sverige AB Krukmakargatan 21 P.O.
