You may be better served, however, with a something like perl, which is an extremely powerful scripting language.
In perl, your script would probably look something like this (quick hack, not verified, etc): <snippage> I think there is one problem w/ perl . Even those who write the books say it is,um,"quirky" and at least somewhat dificult touse because of the way it was created.However there is a huge repositery of scripts already created and available from a similar location to the Bash files repositery mentioned in an earlier message. Some other good list member will have to give you the url tho, I haven't got it in my head. And dont have a browser in my handheld here.
