Hi, I'm planning to use Kylix when its released. I'm running SuSE version 6.3 and its seems that the version of libc I have contains a loader bug identified by Borland. Also libjpeg needs upgrading but this is easy as I have done it previously. My question is can the patched version of libc provided for version 7 be used to upgrade my 6.3 version (kernel 2.4.1/libc 2.1.2-24).Seems the patched version updgrades to libc 2.1.3 and contains updates to programs dependent on this lib. If not will a patched version be released for 6.3? Can I build a patched version anyway? Is upgrading libc a daunting task Yes/No? I know there a many programs dependent on this library, so I guess that many programs could be broken by an upgrade. They say that Kylix comes with an upgraded version of SuSE 7 is this a full version? In one place they says its an evaluation version, but in the test notes they imply it's a full version.I'm sure it's just a bare bones version and I like to hang off upgrading for a wee while if its possible. Anyway any help would be appreciated.
