RE:[SLE] FIREWIRE (ieee1394) with Suse 8.1
Why don't you try an fstab entry like /dev/sda1 ntfs /media/firewire without any rw auto 00 stuff along..It should also work...But you have not answered my previous question...If the ohci driver is not loaded do you see a sda1 symlink in your /media/firewire folder? If not try a ln-s /dev/sda1 /media/firewire , then modprobe ohci1394 (try that without loading the raw1394,it is troublesome sometimes) and see what you get... As for putting modprobe ieee1394 etc in the etc/init.d/boot local, the drivers themselves get loaded at boot but you can't access the device for reasons that escape me so far...So clean up the boot.local file and modprobe the driver manually and then try again....
