[opensuse] openSUSE-11.0-Updates, kernel source not ok?
Hi list, - just wanted to install (via YaST) the kernel source for my plain vanilla standard 11.0 kernel (2.6.25.20-0.1-pae). - In YaST I get (xlated from danish): ERROR: The package kernel-source-2.6.25.20-0.1 did not pass the integrity check. I tried several times - with different internet connections, same result. Eh...now what? -- ------------------------------ Med venlig hilsen/Best regards Verner Kjærsgaard Open Source Academy +45 56964223 Novell Certified Linux Professional 10035701 ------------------------------ -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Hi and thank you I'm not at the computer in question for some two days, so I cannot see the cache nor report back before I try again. Sorry for that. But I will keep the list informed - and check against the MD5 given above. -- ------------------------------ Med venlig hilsen/Best regards Verner Kjærsgaard Open Source Academy +45 56964223 Novell Certified Linux Professional 10035701 ------------------------------ -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

I have a different checksum on that file (I think it is the same file): # rpm -Kvp http://download.opensuse.org/update/11.0/rpm/i586/kernel-source-2.6.25.20-0.... http://download.opensuse.org/update/11.0/rpm/i586/kernel-source-2.6.25.20-0....: Header V3 DSA signature: OK, key ID 9c800aca Header SHA1 digest: OK (63a5afb86158812a202adadd7798f6f23ceeef13) MD5 digest: OK (338738a7155dd72706c8b46a1a7a4c13) V3 DSA signature: OK, key ID 9c800aca (rpm-internal md5 sum) # curl -s 'http://download.opensuse.org/update/11.0/rpm/i586/kernel-source-2.6.25.20-0....' | grep md5 <hash type="md5">212077bb56b97ed2e4297a771dc2886d</hash> (md5 sum of the file) Peter -- Contact: admin@opensuse.org (a.k.a. ftpadmin@suse.com) #opensuse-mirrors on freenode.net Info: http://en.opensuse.org/Mirror_Infrastructure SUSE LINUX Products GmbH Research & Development

Oh, I see. How silly can one be :) The sha1sum of the package on download.opensuse.org is indeed the same then, 2f0f3bf6b1e81e1be5329336f0345ee8b8cf7f9d. Does the problem persist? I am currently checking this file on all mirrors, in order to find a bad one - so far they were all good. In which region are you? It is a big file and takes a while to download; I'll need to implement this in a parallelized way in the future, then it can be checked much easier. The libzypp download failover that we are planning for 11.2 will prevent such issues, by the way.
