Do you mean VMware Server 2.0 ? It works here with no problem. You need to have a functional Apache server. -- Bogdan Cristea -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

How have you installed VMware server? From rpm or from sources ? I have succeeded only using the rpm. If you have a firewall, you need to open two ports for VMware server. -- Bogdan Cristea -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

I am running both x86_64 and 32. I found my problem with network. When I installed 11.1 the network card changed from eth0 to eth_s0_0. So I now have everything working well in both 32 and 64. I did both rpm and source. Although I prefer the rpm. It does work. You need to look at your error messages. You might need to install additional software. Good Luck,
I will have look at the ethernet configuration because 2.6.28-9 didn't make a different still crash with the same reason, I had look at the name of the card still says eth0. Yes mean 2.0 and I do have apache running, but as soon as I start the vmware server I get kernel dump and the the machine hungs.
Thanks Husam
I had problems with the stock 11.1 kernel but I can't rember for sure if vmware was related to that. At any rate I upgraded to Linux bilbo 2.6.28-9-default #1 SMP PREEMPT (from kernel.org) on this dist and installed vmware (rpm) and it's working just fine. The compilation steps in vmware-config generate some warnings about redefined symbols etc but its working very nicely in my machine. It is working for the most part. OpenSUSE 11.1 change things with my network cards. Since then I have not been able to figure out what to do to get them working. I can use the firefox extensions and login and have a console, but I have been unable to figure-out how to get networking.
