I tried to enable "Tagged Command Queueing" on my aic7xxx SCSI but it doesn't seem to have any effect. This is on SuSE 7.0. Here is what I did: 1. Added the following line to /etc/modules.conf: options aic7xxx tag_info:{{8,8}} 2. Issued the following commands: depmod -a mk_initrd lilo 3. Re-booted the machine. 4. After the reboot, looking in the following file: /proc/scsi/aic7xxx/0 I see this: Default Tag Queue Depth: 8 Tagged Queue By Device array for aic7xxx host instance 0: {255,255,255,255,255,255,255,255,255,255,255,255,255,255,255,255} Actual queue depth per device for aic7xxx host instance 0: {1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1} Looks like what I did had no effect! I know I'm close, because If I make a syntax error in the options line, the system does not boot and puts out an error message saying the aic7xxx options are bad. One variation I tried is the following (note the period between the 8's): options aic7xxx tag_info:{{8.8}} -- ____________________________________________________________________ Robert Paulsen paulsen@texas.net
