[opensuse] filesystem space reservated for root user
Those I've used the most, EXT#, by default, reserve 5%. For the / filesystem I'm not bothered about its size. For those used for non-system functions, like big files like isos and videos and images, or /home, or backups, I wonder how much makes sense, particularly since that default was probably selected at a time when most filesystems were an infinitesimal fraction of the sizes they can be today. Are people sticking with the 5% default for everything they have using EXT4, or something more customized to usage? I'm usually using the 5% rule for the '/' file system, but /home and other data partitions have 0% reserved - it's up to the regular user to fill it up (or not). The result is the same for these partitions: the next write() would fail. The discussion for '/' is different: the system may not be able to shutdown or reboot anymore.
