KDE dictionary applet missing from 8.1?
Hello everyone, One of the applets that I used to use quite often in 8.0 was the dictionary applet. After installing 8.1, I can no longer find it. Was it removed? Not knowing what the binary name is, I don't know what RPM it would be in in 8.0. Anyone know if it was removed? Also, can someone who has 8.0 installed tell me which 8.0 rpm it is in? I'll recompile the old RPM and make one that has the dict applet for 8.1 if I can find which one it is. Thanks. -- Marc Christensen http://www.mecworks.com/~marc/resume/

This is a mysterious one for me. At first after upgrading to 3.1 I had the same problem you do. I ended up tracking down a gnome dictionary program and using it for awhile. Then mysteriously KDE's dictionary applet reappeared in the panel options. (rt click Panel --> Aplet --> Dictionary) Looking in kpackage it appears that what you want is found in kdenetwork3-query.rpm. (This was not easy to find) -- dh Don't shop at GoogleGear.com!

Thanks for the pointer. Weird that even though I selected to have all of KDE installed the kdenetwork3-query RPM was not. It is now installed. -- Marc Christensen http://www.mecworks.com/~marc/resume/
