[SuSE Linux] Hyper-speed sound playback with UMP Netscape Plug-in?
I've noticed that sound it somewhat broken since I upgraded from 6.0 to 6.1. I have s SB16 card and have built the appropriate kernel modules. I can play .wav and .mid files from the KDE supplied players. Where playback is broken is when I encounter MIDI files embedded in HTML files. I have the UMP plug-in installed for Netscape and that uses TiMidity and so I have that installed as well. I've been using this plug-in setup since I first started using SuSE Linux 5.2 and it has worked quite well up until I upgraded to 6.1. Now when I access an HTML file with an embedded MIDI file, the sound plays but it is super super fast. The playback of a MIDI file that might normally take 30 seconds or more now takes only a fews seconds and it's done. As far as I can tell the entire MIDI file is being played. The tempo is so greatly increased that the playback finishes in only a few seconds. Is UMP/Timidity broken when used in conjunction with a 2.2.x kernel?
