Hi all, After switching to Suse OSS 10.0 I have the following problem^Wbehaviour: My USB-Stick/MP3 Player mounts fine automatically, window pops up, so I am happy with this. But my digicam does not automount. Looking into /var/log/messages I find the following: Oct 31 17:57:47 linux kernel: usb 2-2: new full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 3 Oct 31 17:57:48 linux kernel: scsi2 : SCSI emulation for USB Mass Storage devices Oct 31 17:57:48 linux kernel: usb-storage: device found at 3 Oct 31 17:57:48 linux kernel: usb-storage: waiting for device to settle before scanning Oct 31 17:57:53 linux kernel: Vendor: Model: Rev: Oct 31 17:57:53 linux kernel: Type: Direct-Access ANSI SCSI revision: 00 Oct 31 17:57:53 linux kernel: SCSI device sdb: 1001952 512-byte hdwr sectors (513 MB) Oct 31 17:57:53 linux kernel: sdb: Write Protect is off Oct 31 17:57:53 linux kernel: sdb: Mode Sense: 03 00 00 08 Oct 31 17:57:53 linux kernel: sdb: assuming drive cache: write through Oct 31 17:57:53 linux kernel: SCSI device sdb: 1001952 512-byte hdwr sectors (513 MB) Oct 31 17:57:53 linux kernel: sdb: Write Protect is off Oct 31 17:57:53 linux kernel: sdb: Mode Sense: 03 00 00 08 Oct 31 17:57:53 linux kernel: sdb: assuming drive cache: write through Oct 31 17:57:53 linux kernel: sdb: sdb1 Oct 31 17:57:53 linux kernel: Attached scsi removable disk sdb at scsi2, channel 0, id 0, lun 0 Oct 31 17:57:53 linux kernel: Attached scsi generic sg1 at scsi2, channel 0, id 0, lun 0, type 0 Oct 31 17:57:53 linux kernel: usb-storage: device scan complete Oct 31 17:57:53 linux kernel: printk: 118 messages suppressed. Strange thing is, that after this my WLAN is down. usblist finds the digicam. manual mounting works Under Suse 9.3 the digicam was automounted. Anybody an idea, what is the reason? Regards Norbert

I guess your kernel has oopsed. Please show us the kernel messages (run dmesg) after the segmentation violation.
usblist finds the digicam. manual mounting works
Under Suse 9.3 the digicam was automounted.
Anybody an idea, what is the reason?
Your kernel messages should give us an idea about it. Regards, Carl-Daniel -- http://www.hailfinger.org/
