Suplementary KNode has been broken for several weeks
I believe there has been a fix to this in the SVN repository. There's a very annoying bug in KNode that causes the insert cursor to jump to the end of the subject input field if any non-alphanum characters are used. Since I'm usually posting about code, I often want to enter some bit of code in the subject. Since the cursor jumps to the end of the field after every keystroke, editing the subject is next to impossible. Has anybody else noticed this problem? Is there a fix on the way? -- Regards, Steven

I just tried with some non-alphanum characters and the problem doesn't occur. This is with Knode 0.9.0 on SuSE 9.3.

This is 0.9.1 (using KDE 3.4.1 a SuSE 9.3 UNSUPPORTED). I'm addicted to the bleeding edge, and I get what I deserve. I am a bit surprised about the time this fix seems to be taking to get into the SuSE supplementary rpms. I doesn't make sense to post this to feedback since the fix is sure to make its way through the pipe eventually, and pestering the developers putting the packages together would probably do more harm than good. -- Regards, Steven

Steven, I'm also running KDE 3.4.1 level "a," and KNode 0.9.1. I don't have the problem. Fred -- Planet Earth - a subsidiary of Microsoft. We have no bugs in our software, Never! We do have undocumented added features, that you will find amusing, at no added cost to you, at this time.

Fred Fred,
Try typing `this->f()', and then going back to the beginning and add `int i =' so the complete statement looks like `int i = this->f()'. When I do that the insert point jumps to the end of the text after every character of input. Is that not happening on your end? -- Regards, Steven

Sorry, Steven......it doesn't. It would make things easier for you if it did. 'VERY interesting. Best, Fred -- Planet Earth - a subsidiary of Microsoft. We have no bugs in our software, Never! We do have undocumented added features, that you will find amusing, at no added cost to you, at this time.
