In dmesg I see : Dell Inspiron 2500 machine detected. Disabling APM. Dell Inspiron with broken BIOS detected. Refusing to enable the local APIC. This is with 8.2 kernel 2.4.20. Does anyone know if this improved in 9.0, or if there are any fixes for 8.2. As at the moment the machine is running continuosly and I would like it to power the screen and drive down when not needed. Thanks David
