Hello SuSE Experts, I seem to be having trouble configuring my sound card. I have a Pentium IV computer with a built in sound card. Yast2 detects the card as: 82820 820 (Camino 2) Chipset AC'97 Audio Controller. After I installed it, it didn't work. I then run alscaonfig which also detects the card and it appears to work, that is until I log out or restart the system. On restart, the following messages come up: starting sound driver: intel8x8/lib/modules/2.4.10-4GB/misc/snd-card-intel8x8.o: init module: no such device hint: insmod errors can be caused by incorrect module parameters, including invalid IO or IRQ parameters. /lib/modules/2.4.10-4GB/misc/snd-card-intel8x8.o failed /lib/modules/2.4.10-4GB/misc/snd-card-intel8x8.o : insmod snd-card-intel8x8 failed. Questions: with Yast2 or alsaconfig, the card/drivers get loaded without any problems. When I manually do a /etc/rc.d/alsasound restart, this also works ok. When startup performs the /etc/rc.d/alsasound start, it fails and I get the above messages on the console. Why? Please give me a hint on how to fix this. (Yes, I have read the previous posts and the volumes are up) Ta Peter Sutter
