[opensuse] Another Optimus failure turns user from Leap to Mint :(
https://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/suse-opensuse-60/opensuse-15-and-du... No laptops here, much less Optimus, so there's little I can do with hands-on. Searching for Optimus on opensuse.org turns up no page with title SDB:Optimus. https://en.opensuse.org/SDB:NVIDIA_Bumblebee hasn't had a 15.0 "test" added. Ought mention of https://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1121246 be added to the Bumblebee page or https://en.opensuse.org/SDB:NVIDIA_SUSE_Prime ? -- Evolution as taught in public schools is religion, not science. honestly, I have NO idea what the whole issue is, I've been running an optimus laptop for the last five years, and openSUSE has been way more user friendly in doing so then any other linux that colleagues of mine tried on the same hardware... plus, I didn't even have to follow all those steps in https://en.opensuse.org/SDB:NVIDIA_Bumblebee, all i had to do was to install the nvidia-bumblebee package from OBS. Now, "optirun glxgears" runs glxgears on my nvidia card, "glxgears" runs it on intel, and that's it :) Cheers MH On 26.01.2019 11:29, Felix Miata wrote:

I know someone with an optimus laptop that worked fine but stopped working when he upgraded to Leap 15.0. He has asked here and elsewhere, nothing works. -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. (from 15.0 x86_64 at Telcontar)

That circles back to the bug in my OP, but again, this isn't about me who has no Optimus hardware. -- Evolution as taught in public schools is religion, not science. Team OS/2 ** Reg. But you can suggest the person in linuxquestions to try that solution :-? I don't have any optimus hardware, either. I specifically choose my laptops not to have it, but plain Intel video. However, people that need a laptop with high video performance must use them, or the AMD alternative. -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. (from 15.0 x86_64 at Telcontar)
