[SuSE Linux] Uptime problem
Hi, When i run uptime the time is always wrong. After 3 days of operation uptime shows me that the computer is up for 4 hours. Does anyone know why this happens? Thanks Gerassimos - To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e

Please take this with a grain of salt, but it has to be said. ;-) Someone may be hacking into your machine, or you are getting power failures. If someone hits <CNTRL_ALT_DEL> or the reset button, they can hack into your system then reboot. A knowledgable person can mount your filesystem without a password if they can get to your keyboard. Most likely, though, a short power failure, which you didn't notice, but caused your machine to reboot. - To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e

You can check when someone rebooted your machine with the 'last' command (it also shows when someone logs in, and for how long) BUT as zentara said, if someone knowledgeable gained access to your machine, they can erase all traces. No, noone has access to my machine. I am the only one who use it.I don't know if suspend causes this problem, because when i push the off button my computer suspend harddisk etc. I'll try not to suspend the machine to see what will happen. Thanks anyway for your answers. Gerassimos
