[opensuse] Grub2-EFI problem
I'm trying to do a net install of 64 bit 13.1. I get an error during the bootloader configuration stating "EFI distributor id isn't specified". I have never seen this before. Any ideas? I'm installing over the Internet, rather than a local source. tnx jk -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

From my "/etc/default/grub" GRUB_DISTRIBUTOR="Tumbleweed 13.1" The actual default value was "openSUSE 13.1". I changed it for my own purposes. The first word, changed to all lower case, is used as the directory name in the EFI partition, where the boot code is to be stored. It also becomes the name of the NVRAM entry for booting. I'm not into doing net installs. But my guess is that you can solve your problem by defining GRUB_DISTRIBUTOR in "/etc/default/grub" of the install target machine. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

I have done net installs and never seen that before. I use net installs on a computer that doesn't have a bootable DVD drive and instead boot the net install from a USB flash drive. I got around it by freeing up an 8 GB drive and putting the full install ISO on it. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

On installation summary screen go into bootloader settings and check Distributor field. Is it empty? -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Too late, as I mentioned in another note, I worked around it. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
