Hi All, I cant seem to login to my server during initial boot. When it displays the login: prompt, then the password prompt does not show up. It goes by too fast. Afterwards, I get an error that Id has spawned too fast and will be disabled for 5 minutes. I am not sure where to look for this problem. thanks Moe __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Yahoo! have a look at your /etc/inittab. Some "services" are started from there for different runlevels. You find the keyword "respawn" for some. That means (i.e. virtual consoles), if you log of, the "service" is restarted. This happens also if a service can't be started or crashes. Your system notices that things "happen to fast to be natural", thus the message and the disable feature, to disable the machine from locking. There should be some articles in the SuSE SDB about that. (At least I remember a german one). Search for "respawn".
