Re: [SuSE Linux] Re: Re: [SuSE 6.0 and SuSe 5.3] Upgrades v. full versions???
Isn't the PC Plus CD a single disk version of 5.2?
Yep, this is me being dopy.
although you should be able to physically upgrade your system from the 6.0 install, rather than having to wipe it and start again.
Not sure I like the idea of 'wiping' a previous installation anyhow...
If you're a first time user I'd recommend buying the full disk set
I will, I will!
and manual from SuSE or a local distributor [1]. The manual is worth its weight in gold if you're not absolutely sure what you are doing, or you hit a problem, and you'll get more software than you know what to do with included in the disk set :)
Yes, this is the reason I have chosen SuSe over RH (and this splendid mailing list). But does anyone know if the manual for SuSe 6.0 will be significantly different from the one supplied with 5.3? This could swing it as to whether I get full version of 5.3 now, or mess about with 5.2 for free with no real manual until the end of Jan, and then do a full and proper installation with the amazing *new* manual for 6.0! :-) Kester Clegg York, UK
