Manuel;
Do you mean that you need clients to be able to access the external net via
the SuSE Server?....you just mention "other protocols" if you have Squid
working and you are familiar with assigning the ports and such on the
clients for the Proxy for HTTP then I am sure you would be able to figure
out the SuSE firewall Script + NAT to use the Server for FTP requests and
such....Is this what you are trying to accomplish?
Regards,
Jon

Hey Tia, i'm assuming that u've configured ur ethernet device (ie the linux box is being accessed by the rest of the lan) what i'd do next would be install a firewall (The SuSE firewall that comes with suse is good enough and not difficult to configure). So with the firewall running, set up the linux box with the internet connection (i'm assuming u've already done that) then just configure the rest of the computers on the LAN to use the linux box as a gateway by pointing them to the linux box's ip. ;-) as u set up the suse firewall, you'll see it's a matter of 'yes' or 'no' good luck! jorge.
