Greetings, Is it possible to have a black and white display on a color monitor, my existing monitor is having some problems and the red color is not displayed properly, My guess linux can do anything so I am assuming that doing this should also be possible. Thanks. Note : I want to know this only for fun, I would eventually like to repair my monitor. Regards.

Do you want GUI or shell? If i remember correctly you want X to run B/W, just change default bitdepth to 1. /etc/X11/XF86Config Section "Screen" DefaultDepth 1 (Or use Yast so set it) Haven't run X in B/W for YEARS, so i cant vouch for it though... - -- /Rikard - ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Rikard Johnels email : rikjoh@norweb.se Web : http://www.rikjoh.com Mob : +46 (0)735 05 51 01 - ------------------------ Public PGP fingerprint ---------------------------- < 15 28 DF 78 67 98 B2 16 1F D3 FD C5 59 D4 B6 78 46 1C EE 56 > -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.2 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQFAbosvWdS2eEYc7lYRAlUWAKC62Pt5OgtT67BtWrDrKTHNCs4ZPwCeN8VG IMpForFv37yo4g5XN0Dw724= =Axf/ -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
