[SLE] Backing up a CD
Hi, Does anyone know how I can back up the "raw" data from a CD, and then later write this to a CD-R? I need to copy a CD-Extra, i.e. a couple of audio tracks in session 1 and a data track in session 2. Almost all the tools I've tried so far (cdrdao, xcdroast, gnometoaster) only extract the audio tracks from the CD, with no way of getting at the data. I have SCSI Emulation enabled for both my DVDROM and CDRW. Tried to use dd for /dev/srX and /dev/sgX to no avail, as dd seems to keel over on sight of audio tracks. What I would like to be able to do is to use something like dd to copy the binary data from the Cd to a file, and then later on record this onto a CD-R when I need to. Hint: under Unix, everytihng (well, almost...) is a file. dd if=/dev/cdrom of=/tmp/cdrom.img Regards, Cees. -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/
