Installing parport scanner with ppscsi via Yast (Solved)
I have been going nuts trying to install my scanner. I didn't know that if you run Yast from a user's screen, even though it requires the root passowrd, it doesn't work correctly! I tried it logged in as root, and it worked no problemo! Boy, I feel dumb! Thanks to everyone for all the wonderful help I recieved. You guys (and gals) are the best! Harry G
I had a problem like that when I installed Vuescan and was trying to get my filmscanner to work. It worked under root, but not under the user. This text is from the Vuescan website for the Linux version: You need to make sure all of the /dev/sg* devices are read/write accessible. To see what scanners are available, type "cat /proc/scsi/scsi When I made this change I could use my scanner as a user. On Wednesday 26 June 2002 23:51, Harry G wrote:
