First, I am not using a firewall yet as I am not on the net. Now, how do I
check to see if authentication is the problem?

I did this, but when I go to check for mail on the server it says Connection immediately dropped by server. I will go w/ qpopper. Hopefully there is some documentation on the web to get this working. Thanks!
Maybe it's an authtication problem, or firewall blocking the 110 port? -- $|=1;while(1){print pack("h*",'75861647f302d4560275f6272797f3');sleep(1); for(1..16){for(8,32,8,7){print chr($_);}select(undef,undef,undef,.05);}} -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/support/faq and the archives at http://lists.suse.com

Is this with 7.3? There is an 'error' in /etc/init.d for the pop3 daemon (or maybe it depends on which one you are using). If you are using the one for both IMAP and POP3, change the last part of the line to say /usr/sbin/ipop3d -s. That got it working on mine.
