Mike, cannot help except to ask if you installed the guest extensions on the VM, and if the shared folder resides on the HOST as per the manual? Also see page 59 of the manual for Vbox. it can be downloaded from http://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Downloads I am using the SUN version because of the usb support which the OSE version does not have. Just tried shared folders after I read your question on the news group but it never shows up in my network places. Did you create the shared folder as root or the user? I was trying to understand how you created it. I tried the cli and had no success there. In searching for a solution I found a couple of references and one of them said it a bug in the latest version and to download the last version of the shared folder software. I could not find
