As far as I understood, the question was for a bitmap oriented porogram, which Inkscape for sure is not. Inkscape is vector based.
true but it can do the job :-). Just had problem because it exports bitmaps as png (but may be there is a jpg option). Of course it's not the true answer :-) Krita do the job, but looks much like paintshop, much too complicated for the goal. Kolourpaint is definitively the good answer, I had only to find it :-) however, I nerver understood why GIMP don't have so obvious tools (probably do be different from competitors :-) - I _like_ GIMP but don't use it enough to know it well, alas jdd -- http://www.dodin.net http://dodin.org/galerie_photo_web/expo/index.html http://lucien.dodin.net http://fr.susewiki.org/index.php?title=Gérer_ses_photos --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Indeed - I didn't know about this!

Yes, there is. Click on the Create Regular Polygon button (5th along), and specify the number of sides (4 in your case), then click and drag. -- Pob hwyl / Best wishes Kevin Donnelly www.kyfieithu.co.uk - KDE yn Gymraeg www.eurfa.org.uk - Geiriadur rhydd i'r Gymraeg www.rhedadur.org.uk - Rhedeg berfau Cymraeg www.cymrux.org.uk - Linux Cymraeg ar un CD --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

:-) I expected that one contribution will entice other to start adding graphics, tips and tricks, but ... Even the Golden Text needs revision, as when I wrote it, I used as template article from gimp.org web site, and later I found (some of the links in article about GIMP) better method using layers, not multiple windows. The same idea can be used for more metallic effects, but it is asking for more experiments with parameters that you pass to effects. I have to finish another tip about creating water surface, but last time I played with the result looked more like blue desert dunes than a water surface :-) -- Regards, Rajko.
