Hi all, I have set in KDE Control Center ---> KDE Components ---> Component Chooser, the Terminal Emulator to: rxvt -bg black -cr green -fg white -C -fn 9x15 -sl 500 which is my preferred console app. Now, I thought this would link anything that opens a terminal emulator, to rxvt, instead of konsole, but it doesn't seem to be working Specifically, what I'm after, is the Ctrl+T sequence in a konqueror filemanager window - to open a console in the current directory. The shortcuts configuration of konqueror only list "Open terminal" as an action - doesn't let you choose which terminal. Any idea how to set this? KDE 3.2.0 (in the process of compiling 3.2.1) on SUSE 9.0 Pro, but I've been wanting to do this since SuSE 8.0 Thanks -- Kind regards Hans du Plooy Newington Consulting Services hansdp at newingtoncs dot co dot za

It seems to be a problem with passing parameters. Just putting "rxvt" there seems to work well Two options (that I can see): either create a script /usr/X11R6/bin/myrxvt that executes the above line, or set those options in your Xdefaults so they are the default options whenever you run rxvt

Compiling? There are binaries you know. Also, 3.2.2 has been released :)

I do rpmbuild --rebuild --target=athlon-xp-pc-linux-gnu kdelibs-x.y-z.src.rpm Doing at least qt3, kdelibs and the smaller libraries makes for a much faster desktop. I don't really know what can be optimized in KDE, possibly the rendering part? But it really does make a difference.
