Hi all!
Just walking through all the issues on the new 8.2 install, and I
stumbled across this one: the smb (samba) init script does not
automatically call the nmbd init script.
I had to manually tell nmbd to start before I appeared in the
NetNeighborhood on my family's windows box.
Is this the new standard, or just a misconfiguration? Shouldn't the smb
init script automagically call nmbd? Don't you have to be running nmbd
to use samba? (I know you can use it w/o it, but you don't get any of
the network layout because it's not querying the network)
Is this a bug or my fault?
TIA!

IIRC, this is the new standard. Check the changelog. -- Joe Morris New Tribes Mission Email Address: Joe_Morris@ntm.org Web Address: http://www.mydestiny.net/~joe_morris Registered Linux user 231871 God said, I AM that I AM. I say, by the grace of God, I am what I am.
