[opensuse] ZTE AC682 -->wvdialconf problem
Dear my friends.... I have a new CDMA EVDO Rev.A USB Modem ZTE AC682. I can not use it with my NetworkManager. My wvdialconf can not detect it. As I plugged this modem I saw it's detected as /dev/sr1 by my OpenSuSE11.4 not as a modem: === dmesg .... [ 703.512205] usb 2-1.8: new full speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 7 [ 703.584180] usb 2-1.8: device descriptor read/64, error -32 [ 703.781643] usb 2-1.8: New USB device found, idVendor=19d2, idProduct=ffde [ 703.781646] usb 2-1.8: New USB device strings: Mfr=1, Product=2, SerialNumber=11 [ 703.781648] usb 2-1.8: Product: CBP7.0 [ 703.781649] usb 2-1.8: Manufacturer: China TeleCom [ 703.781651] usb 2-1.8: SerialNumber: ÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿ [ 703.782539] usb 2-1.8: selecting invalid altsetting 1 [ 703.782669] scsi7 : usb-storage 2-1.8:1.0 [ 704.184179] usb 2-1.7: reset full speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 5 [ 704.368160] usb 2-1.7: reset full speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 5 [ 704.552165] usb 2-1.7: reset full speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 5 [ 704.781211] scsi 7:0:0:0: CD-ROM EVDO ReV A 7.00 PQ: 0 ANSI: 2 [ 704.787454] sr1: scsi-1 drive [ 704.787544] sr 7:0:0:0: Attached scsi CD-ROM sr1 [ 704.787603] sr 7:0:0:0: Attached scsi generic sg2 type 5 === So I ejected it by doing: 'eject /dev/sr1'. Then I did 'modprobe usbserial vendor=0x19d2 product=0xffde', because I saw: sussy:/home/ceo # lsusb ... Bus 002 Device 007: ID 19d2:ffde ONDA Communication S.p.A. ... But still my wvdialconf can not detect the modem. What looks suspicious for me is: my OpenSuSE11.4 thinks that the modem is on ircomm since AFAIK that it should be 'dev'ttyUSB*' or 'ttyACM*'.
