-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi gang, Some menu folders in my KDE desktop are too large and they extend out the screen. Do you know the way to arrange this? This is a bug. Remove SortOrder= line from the .directory files from your applnk directories. Koos Pol ---------------------------------------------------------------------- S.C. And what if these lines aren't in the .directory files?? Are you sure you are looking in the /opt/kde/ tree in stead of your local $HOME/.kde tree? Koos Pol ---------------------------------------------------------------------- S.C. Very sure. Is this also version related? BB, Arjen -- Sell what you use, use what you sell. -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/

I don't know. I discovered it in 6.3 after modifying the global K menu as root. After saving the menu, the entries fell of from the bottom of the screen. After some finding/perling/grepping in combination with the original menu's the 'SortOrder=' came out as the offending statement. After removing this line everything was ok again. I emailed this already to the KDE developers and feedback@suse.com but got no response yet... Koos Pol ---------------------------------------------------------------------- S.C. Well, I did an extensive search on the iweb and usenet, the only solve people have is by manually editing the menu's and make submenu's called "more" yourself. That's no solution, that's a workaround. This is stupid. Koss, I have look for the "SortOrder=..." line in .directory files for several users and no file has such line. Any more ideas? What bug are you talking about? Where can I read more about it? Thanks for any pointing. On Fri, 14 Jan 2000 15:11:28 +0100, Koos Pol wrote:

You should find the files under your KDE install tree. On my system, the files in directories under: /opt/kde/share/applnk. Each .directory file is in a subdirectory named the same as your main menu entries, for example: Games would be at /opt/kde/share/applnk/Games/.directory. Jim S. Pep Serrano wrote:
