Somebody have the same problem ?
What kind of problems are you having? I've been running Mozilla off the 9.0 CDs, without a hitch. Offhand thoughts: Did you convert a RedHat system to SuSE? Or did you do a fresh install? The button on google, IIRC, requires javascript. Check your preferences in Mozilla to make sure it's turned on. That might take care of things. Krikket On Thu, 13 Nov 2003, Michele Schiavo wrote:

This has happened to me, and this is the second complaint I've seen about it on the list. My opinion, upgrade to Firebird (http://texturizer.net/firebird/). It's the best browser out there on any platform. Just untar it into /opt/Firebird, and set your path accordingly. -- Bryan Feeney

Does anyone have an answer how to get Java to work in Mozilla 1.5? I installed Suse 9.0 yesterday. Java works in the 1.4 Mozilla that came in the installation, but when I got 1.5 from the mozilla site the java doesn't work in it. I did the plug update when it asked me to. Roy

I've got Mozilla 1.5 under SuSE 7.3 working with the Java 1.4.2 plugin under the ns610-gcc32 directory. I assume that the gcc32 is needed for 9.0 also. -- Jim Sabatke Hire Me!! - See my resume at http://my.execpc.com/~jsabatke Do not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for you are crunchy and good with ketchup.
The java I'm using with 9.0 on this box is /usr/lib/java -> SunJava2-1.4 and I have the following symlink in /usr/local/mozilla/plugins javaplugin_oji.so -> /usr/lib/java2/jre/plugin/i386/ns610-gcc32/libjavaplugin_oji.so. On my laptop I'm using j2sdk1.4.2, both work fine with mozilla 1.5. Regards Sid. Jim Sabatke wrote:

That was the answer that worked for me! Thanks, Roy

Now here is one I can answer. I found a very easy way to get Java and other plugins to carry over to the new Mozilla 1.5. When I installed Mozilla 1.5, I put it in /opt/mozilla where 1.4 was. I noticed the directory tree was a little different for 1.5 but that didn't seem to matter. In browsing in the mozilla tree, I found a SuSE script /opt/mozilla/bin/add-plugins.sh. I edited it with kwrite and changed line 13 to PREFIX=/opt/mozilla. After running the tampered script, Mozilla 1.5 listed all the plugins when I clicked help/about/plugins. I also found this worked with Mozilla Firebird after a little more tampering with add-plugins.sh. Change line 13 to PREFIX=/opt/MozillaFirebird and change lines 20 and 21 to MozillaFirebird-bin. Nice script SuSE but I get the feeling that no one knows about it after reading posts about Mozilla and plugins Damon Register
