I am having problem running Gnome 3 on 12.1. I loaded the proprietary Nvidia drivers 295.20 with dual display. I have the gt200 Nvidia card with a Xenon process (6). When I try to login in, it says one of the gnome 3 extension has failed. Try to turnoff the extension and re-login. I did the suggested turnoff, and it still fails. I suspect it is the alt-tab menu, but the extension is not on the activity setting. I found out that KDE, xfce, twm, will work. No gnome 3. Is there something I can help diagnose the problem. Loading the proprietary drivers using one click install is not an option. The company firewall will not let us setup the repository.
