[opensuse] Nicotine in 10.3 troubles...
The Nicotine on the dvd and from Packmans site both installed fine (I tried one then the other). When I click on it in the menu it acts as if it's starting just fine, but after waiting, nothing happens. I open ksysguard to see if it's running, and it is...but it's eating 50% of the cpu and there's no window. Has anyone else gotten Nicotine to work on 10.3, or had problems and found a workaround? -- "Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety." Oops, I forgot to mention that I already tried that with the same exact results. -- "Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety." And there were probably some error messages in the console that may help solve your problem. Could you post them please? -- Ken Schneider SuSe since Version 5.2, June 1998 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

There were no errors. It just sat there like the app was running. In ksysguard, it was eating up cpu cycles the same way and I had to 'kill' it. On a hunch, I downloaded the wxPython.src.rpm from wxPython website. Unfortunately I'm running into problems getting it to 'rebuild' (latest error is: strip: '/var/tmp/wxPython-buildroot/usr/lib*/python2.5/site-packages/wx-2.8*-gtk2-unicode/wx/*.so': No such file error: Bad exit status from /var/tmp/rpm-tmp.32437 (%install). ) -- "Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety." Do you have python-wxGTK-2.8.4.0-53 installed? - -- Cheers, Carlos E. Yes, that's why it doesn't make any sense that Nicotine isn't working or why I can't build an rpm from the src. -- "Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety."
