Here's the latest on xcdroast: news: (last updated: 22 January 2000) Rejoice! Alpha4 is done for download. This release is primarly to make the translation work easier - but also fixes some showstopper bugs. Please see the Changelog for details. Now most of the basic features from version 0.98 are implemented. Just the code to master your own CDs is missing. Really new is the index-scanner for audio tracks and it is now possible to read and rearrange audio-CDs as you want. This snapshot now contains about 75% of the features planned for the full version. Its just that you folks see what I am working on. Download this test (its SOURCE only) - no binaries at this time because I want get reports how it compiles on most systems. (I also will create a low-bandwidth and a german version of this page soon) Logo/Name Contest: X-CD-Roast 0.98 is actually not a very fitting name for this project. I would rather prefer a name which reflects that this is a completely new product and that there are not much similarities to the old X-CD-Roast. I want to keep the name itself, but add something "nice/cool" to it. Something like "X-CD-Roast Plus" or "X-CD-Roast enhanced"... Nevertheless some of you might have a better idea for a good name. Please mail me your suggestions. I am glad to announce that I got a new logo for X-CD-Roast. Its not ready yet to be published, but expect something quite amazing. Call for translation-maintainers: As you know its very easy to add support for new languages in X-CD-Roast. All I need is a reliable person for each language which can do the job. If you think you have some extra time you want to contribute to the X-CD-Roast project and want your language supported, please contact me. I do already have maintainers for English, German, Dutch, Italian, French, Croatian, Swedish, Danish, Portuguese, Spanish, Turkish, Estonian, Brasilian Portuguese and Japanese. I use xcdroast, which is a graphical front-end to programmes like cdrecord, cdparanoia, mkisofs, etc. When you try and install xcdroast it should tell you which other programmes it needs. Works fine for me, though it is not multisession, and can't do bootable cd-roms.

memorex platinums are good and so are the sony cdr`s.... believe it or not the pacific digital 700mb are good for a generic cd...for like 10 bucks for 10 i havent had one go bad yet but im sticking to memorex...ect "Michael H. Collins" wrote:
