[SLE] 5.1% non-contiguous - previous messages said not to bother...
After my recent install of SuSE 6.4, I happened to notice that my drive reported 5.1% non-contiguous after 8 months of using 6.1 as a home user (boot up and down once per night). When I had noticed this fragmentation previously, it was in the 1% range - at what point do I begin to worry about this fragmentation and what it is doing to my system speed/reliability? Is there any way to fix this fragmentation? I am using standard SuSE 6.4 with the EXT2 file system (not Reiser yet). I would prefer not to have to reinstall everything/reformat the hard-drive, so I'd like to nip this in the bud if possible. Thanks!
