[opensuse] KNETWORK MANAGER PROBLEM PLS HELP
Hi I have a Dell Inspiron 6400. I recently did a fresh install of Opensuse 11. My wireless card is a Broadcom BCM94311MCG. I have a wireless router at home which I can connect to without any problems using Knetworkmanager. However in my office, we run pppoe and my knetworkmanager does not connect to the wireless access point and I cannot connect to the Internet though it using Kinternet. I tried the same with the LAN port with no success. I was able to get my wireless to connect by switching to traditional mode instead of Knetworkmanager and using Kinternet for the pppoe. Is this a known bug about knetworkmanager or am I not doing something correctly. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Which type of security does your AP use? You can just attach the part of "iwlist scan" which shows your AP. Helmut -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Jide Are you using PPPoE over WiFi? Or just for an ADSL connection to the access point?

What does that get for you, that standard WiFi doesn't? If you're trying to isolate traffic, you can get access points that support VLANs. -- Use OpenOffice.org <http://www.openoffice.org> -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

We are an ISP and use it to provide authentication for our customers. Jide -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
