Hi Arup,
What versions of openSUSE, KDE and KMail are you running?
SUSE13.1, KmailVersion 4.11.5 Using KDE Development Platform 4.11.5
And do your settings match these?:
Receiving server pop.gmail.com use SSL for POP3 connection POP3 port 995
I use IMAP.
Sending server smtp.gmail.com use STARTTLS command to start SSL connection SMTP port 25
It was SSL 465 plain. But now I set as you said, still the same error.

I was using this Kmail since last 2 years, today it is causing error. I applied again what you said above for SMTP. Not working, same error still coming. What should be the authentication mode? I have not set a "plain".

This suggestion finally worked for me. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=175816#c1 -- ================ Regards, Arup Rakshit ================ Debugging is twice as hard as writing the code in the first place. Yes, I visited. I saw it already enabled. It was working since last 2 years. Suddenly not working today for Gmail account. And it is happening only when I am trying to send the email.
