[opensuse] A big please ...
Dear listmembers, I tried to access my Bugzilla account to review my bugs. However, according to the announcement, my access did not work any more. When I tried to change my password it did not work, I received a statement saying "At this time your password can only be reset by an administrator. To send them a request, go to your Sign-in Help page. Then click the Request help link." but help is no help, it works perfectly as /dev/null. Who the heck is the administrator, does someone here know an email address I could write to so I can get help and re-access my bugzilla account? Thank you very much for any suggestion, best Dieter Jurzitza -- ----------------------------------------------------------- Dr.-Ing. I am also unable to log in. I tried changing my password a few weeks ago, but got no acknowledgement that anything happened and I can't reset today. I'd file a bugzilla report about this, but... On 2020-05-27 08:40 AM, Dr.-Ing. Dieter Jurzitza wrote:

As you do not say what you did and where exactly you tried to change your password it is rather hard to make any useful comment.

Hello Dave, hello Andrej, I got an email with a link, I tried that link and ended nowhere - great that Dave knows about an idp - portal - where did you learn about this? I got an email with a link pointing elswhere ... there was no reference to this in the email stating look there and check. I assume everyone of you got the very same email with the announcement containing the password change request .... So I will write to the email address Dave suggested, hopefully someone can fix this for me as the reply below clearly indicated that an administrator is required to reset my password. Yes, it was kind of weird, I did the portal password change and it worked. If I recall correctly, I then got an e-mail telling me that bugzilla (and one other site, I think it was buildservice) would retain the same account username and password as things were migrated away from Microfocus. (the same login from the time of Novell). If I recall, all I had to do was use the same old login. Checking keepassx that appears to confirm it. The record is the same one created in 2007 and nothing has changed since then (though I need to update the bugzilla url which is still listed as http://bugzilla.novell.com) But the login works -- I have written bugs since the change. -- David C. Yes, e-mail that was sent was about partner/customer account migration. These accounts are now kept in separate database and independent from bugzilla (so I e.g. have now two separate accounts with my partner hat on). You would need this different account to e.g. download anything from SUSE sites (like SLES installation images). So even if you are not partner/customer you may still need second account. Migration of bugzilla accounts was announced on project/factory/announce mailing lists in more details. Assuming you missed these announcements (there were multiple) when you access openSUSE bugzilla you see large red box which tells you: Important This Bugzilla switched to a new authentication system. Please migrate your user account to the new system by June 30th latest. Find details on https://idp-portal-info.suse.com/ I am not sure how anyone can miss it.
I assume everyone of you got the very same email with the announcement containing the password change request ....
I did not get announcement with "password change request". I got announcement that accounts are going to be migrated and I need to actively unlock new account by setting its password. You are using very imprecise description without any factual details which makes it hard to understand your problem. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

On https://bugzilla.opensuse.org/index.cgi there is a large white box with a red border containing text that includes that URL. "Important "This Bugzilla switched to a new authentication system. Hello listmembers, ok, I got it done now. The email is apparently related to a different issue - but for a non native speaker it is not that easy to understand that SUSE is approaching you around the very same time on two paths with different targets (seemingly). Most specifically as the emails content did not specify anything but a "password change for your new account" - it is by no means clear that this account should differ from the one I already had / from the request on the bugzilla page (honestly I even did not check on bugzilla as there was an email stating that there is a pending request so I related them). The white box actually allowed me to change the passwort and it looks like this was it. Thanks to everyone who tried to support me. It's not you. The whole process(es) is/are not clear to native English speakers either. :(
