[opensuse] 42.1 versus 42.2
Hello, I will have pretty soon to build a new openSUSE server (before the end of September). What do you recommended, using 42.1 (knowing I will have to update to 42.2 in less than 6 month) or directly 42.2 beta? I have to use mostly apache2 (with pmwiki and piwigo), postfix, dovecot, roundcube. the server is not critical (can stop for some hours without harm, but preferably not for days in case of bug). this may also be seen as: "how difficult will be the update from 42.1 to 42.2?" thanks jdd -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

As a server, Leap 42.2 is very very, very, very, similar to SLE 12 SP2 SLE 12 SP2 is currently in its RC2 phase (Release Candidate 2) ie. Very little is changing, very few bugs are expected. Of course there is a small chance, so if you are happy filing bugs if you find any, I'd recommend Leap 42.2 in this usecase. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

With those specs, I don't think it matters which one you chose. I would go with 42.2. -- Per Jessen, Zürich (21.4°C) http://www.hostsuisse.com/ - virtual servers, made in Switzerland. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

From what I've seen / tested so far. go for Leap 42.2, given the "non critical"
