[opensuse] inn configuration
an other helper made me notice I misunderstood the systemd messages. The presnet situation is that one, any idea? thanks jdd Le 01/05/2014 08:49, Julien ÉLIE a écrit :
What happens when you run the following command as the *news* user? rc.news start
I can't run this as "news", only as root and the real synatx is: s-r:~ # systemctl status inn.service inn.service - LSB: Inter Net News Server (INN) Loaded: loaded (/etc/init.d/inn) Active: active (exited) since mer. 2014-04-30 16:40:44 CEST; 16h ago Process: 1208 ExecStop=/etc/init.d/inn stop (code=exited, status=0/SUCCESS) Process: 3586 ExecStart=/etc/init.d/inn start (code=exited, status=0/SUCCESS) avril 30 16:40:44 s-r systemd[1]: Starting LSB: Inter Net News Server (INN)... avril 30 16:40:44 s-r su[3596]: (to root) root on (null) avril 30 16:40:44 s-r su[3596]: pam_unix(su:session): session opened for user news by (uid=0) avril 30 16:40:44 s-r systemd[1]: Started LSB: Inter Net News Server (INN). mai 01 09:17:29 s-r systemd[1]: Started LSB: Inter Net News Server (INN). but, thanks, this morning my brain is clearer and I notice I misundertood the message, specially the "(exited)" part. on my terminal, "active (exited)" is green, so I supposed (error!) than all was fine, when it only mean that the inn automatic start is enabled, but inn is not started, or better was closed immediately after starting. The following logs do not mean anything for me
What is the result of: ctlinnd checkfile
need running inn :-(
inncheck
news@s-r:~> /usr/lib/news/bin/inncheck defined(@array) is deprecated at /usr/lib/news/bin/inncheck line 625. (Maybe you should just omit the defined()?) don't know what O can do, I just installed the openSUSE provided package (no compilation on my side) but then the error message may be relevant - it's normal if the pid file is not there, inn is closed. the only log is errlog (other files are empty): innd: dbz: wrong of_t size (4) innd: dbzinit: getconf failure innd: can't dbzinit /var/lib/news/history Numerical argument out of domain innd: dbzclose: not opened! innd: can't dbzclose /var/lib/news/history Numerical argument out of domain innd: SERVER can't open history /var/lib/news/history: Numerical argument out of domain I can't say this is clear :-(, but it may be for you :-) thanks jdd -- http://www.dodin.org -- http://www.dodin.org -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
